Clearwater Country Club
About
Located just minutes from the beach, the conveniently situated Clearwater Country Club sprawls across a coastal landscape of Spanish moss-draped trees and towering, mature oaks. Stevenson Creek meanders through the golf course, coming into play on six holes. Built in 1920, the layout has a traditional design that is challenging but fair. The course is tight but it plays long, especially on the par 5s. The rolling fairways are well manicured and the greens play at medium speed and are consistently well maintained. Clearwater C.C. actually has a reputation amongst locals for its superb conditions. It is also popular with visitors, snowbirds specifically, since the club offers the area's only seasonal and short-season membership with exclusive privileges. It is also one of the few clubs in the area that allows walking.

Lots of streets around the perimeter
I'll be careful when driving by the course now that I see how easy drives can end up on the street for less experienced golfers. Once you can straighten out your drive, the course plays great.
The course was interesting and fun to play.
This was the first time in serveral years that I played the course. I found the course very interesting and fun to play. The course was in very good condition.
Marshall
Marshalls need to hurry up slow players that stack up the course. Saw Marshall's driving around but not doing anything about slow play.
Pleasant but not exciting or fast
Decent course but not inspiring. Quite dangerous at some points and pace of play could have been better.
If you didn’t have some local company like us it could have been difficult and dangerous.
Lucky we were paired with two nice guys.
First visit, would play again
I liked the course as a newcomer. It is mostly wide open with some water (not much of a problem) and bunkers which were avoidable. Pretty flat except for 2-3 holes. I would like to play here again on my next visit to the area.
have played here before, usually the course is in good shape. they were working on a couple of holes, so they were not able to play them. other than that it was a good day.
Good Golf Experience
Clearwater Country Club was a pleasant golfing experience. The fairways and greens were in good shape. The course challenge is about ball control with some narrow fairways and streets closely aligning with fairways on a few holes. There were two fairways under major repair and unable to play # 16.
My first experience when I first checked in I was asked to join with another player in one cart .I was not asked for an option but it l seems mandatory. I’ve been booking thru tee off all the time and this is my first experience -not a good one .I having second thoughts whether I like to play there again. You booked your tee time to play with your own cart to relax .
Convenient course close to the beach
Other than the course construction with one hole completely shut down and par 4’s turned into par 3’s it wasn’t to bad. Tee box locations are dangerous being so close together but what was playable wasn’t to bad. If visiting again and once done with course construction I’d try it again.
Bad Shape
We were not told that there were temporary greens when we booked. Some par 4 holes had been temporarily made short par 3 holes and the course was just in terrible shape. I was embarrassed that I booked for 4 people and did not know this.
