The Eagles Golf Club - Forest
About
Designed by Ron Garl and Gary Koch, the Forest Course at The Eagles Golf Club features the signature island-green sixth hole which rivals the famous 17th hole at the TPC at Sawgrass. The two outstanding championship courses at The Eagles Golf Club are kept in "tournament condition" year-round. As its name implies, much of Forest course winds through an impressive pine forest.

Great experience
First time playing.
Nice layout through mature trees and plenty of water.
Good condition.
Houses dont infringe on course layout.
Awesome course!!
The course was in great condition, staff was friendly, course layout was great. I don’t have a single complaint about this course and I will definitely be going back!
Eagles Lakes
Signed up on Golf Now for Eagles Forest. Moved to Eagles Lakes by golf staff due to event on Forest. No problem.
Low rating based on course conditions. Tees had minimal grass. Fairways need attention. Grass inconsistent to non-existent. Greens similar.
Several better area options.
Gorgeous morning
Awesome course and you can tell they are upgrading everything. Greens rolled true and fairways were nice.
Going Downhill
I haven't played here in 3 years. It used to be one of my favorites in our league rotation.
Weeds on the greens. Tee boxes dirt no grass. Fairways spotty, some grass mostly weeds.
Very disappointed, I was bragging up the course and I took my son in law to play on his vacation. Sorry about the poor review, but that's what it looks like.
Also, 3 groups in front of us was a six sum. Bachelor party. We played 15 holes in 4 hrs and then went home.
Perfect Day
What an exceptionally beautiful, layout this course is. Layout of the course is beautifully set between tree lines, lakes, and the neighborhood it winds through. Course is very challenging, I’m glad I brought extra balls. Was lucky enough to see a gator on hole one, woodpecker‘s on hole 4, sandhill cranes on hole 13 or 14 , and even two deer eating in someone’s backyard as we were leaving!
If I had a complaint, it would be the service in the 19th hole. Staff did not seem to want to help golfers. There were court girls who were very kind and friendly and I’m glad they were there due to the lack of service in the clubhouse. Will be back soon.
Perfect weather
Couldn't of asked for a better day, Nice breeze and it was under 90 degrees. Only complaint is there are NO fairway yardage markers, Am I the only golfer left that doesn't have GPS yardage on my phone? Frustrating to golf without GPS on the carts and no markers, well I actually saw 3 red 100 yard markers.
Not worth the time or money
Both Eagles courses used to be staples of any golf circuit in Tampa. But now they are both in the worst shape I have seen them in years. While the standing water is somewhat understandable, the fact this issue still remains is unacceptable. In 96 degree heat we saw the cart girl once ON A SATURDAY. The greens were infested with what looked like worm holes (not from being punched). The bunkers were of course filled with water and there were still big chunks of bare ground.
If you are prepared to pay $80 to play, drive the extra 20 min to Lake Jovita or Fox Hollow. Or go to Westchase, where while overpriced in my opinion is at least in great shape. I hope they do some work to these courses as they used to be very fun to play
Course has seen better days .... there are better courses in the area than this one. I'd only recommend it if this was the only course you can get out at and even warning that it is bad shape.
Eagles - Forest
The round was very pleasant. Pace of play was excellent (4 hours for three players) and the golf course is in fairly good shape. Tees are spotty, fairways are mostly fine but with patches of sandy worn soil, greens are mostly OK, but there are weeds and the impact of aeration several weeks ago is still strong, making the roll of the putt sometimes look like a basketball being dribbled down the court. Green speed is fine, definitely not slow.
Aeration- wait to play here for a few weeks
Wish we would have known before our round, they are charging full greens fees and the greens were all unplayable. We played the Forest course which is a really good layout, definitely not worth the $80 they charge with all of the taxes and fees right now. Will go back in about 3-4 weeks but not before
Traffic Jam
Great course and condition but as usual public course that heavily books T times! We had to wait every hole.
Eagles Forest Course - Good Value
Greens good considering drought. Scenic views fairways and tee boxes in pretty good shape. Don’t pay attention to handicap numbers for each hole. Some tough par threes.
Scoring card could use a bit of updating. Clean comfortable carts. Variety and challenge good.
