Championship at Seven Springs Country Club
About
Seven Springs Country Club offers two golf courses, the Championship and an executive course. Located in New Port Richey, the courses are just minutes away from Tampa Bay and the scenic Gulf of Mexico beaches. The Championship Course offers a challenge for players of all skill levels, especially if it's a windy day. There are a few bunkers scattered along the greensides but water is the most prominent hazard. There are numerous lakes and ponds throughout that come into play on almost every hole. Towering pines and cypress trees also frame most of the holes. Thanks to the challenging layout, lush fairways, and manicured greens, the golf course has earned the reputation of being one of Pasco County's best. Seven Springs also offers a practice facility with an excellently conditioned driving range with four target greens and a hitting area that is 300 yards in length.

Good Intermediate Course
I played 36 holes. Started with the first tee time and played the whites and played the blues with the second 18. For a single digit handicapper, the tips are more accommodating to having full shots thru all the holes, the whites require a lot of layups for a skilled golfer but the greens have can have some challenging pins so scoring could still be a challenge. There are a couple quirky holes, but the Greens were in great shape and rolled well. I will certainly play there again.
7 Springs
A fun layout. Different holes, makes you use most of your bag. Nice quick greens. Good value. I’d definitely go back. Friendly staff.
A challenging layout in need of more maintenance
The Champions course was a challenging layout which requires the golfer to make plenty of shots into either dog-legged fairways, or relatively modest greens. Another positive were greens that rolled relatively fast, and were true to most breaks that were read. The negative was the fairways which were not in good shape and were really thin with many bald areas. Many sand traps also were in need of a good raking and new layer of sand.. I look forward to playing here again under better course conditions.
Ok conditions not very good but probably not their fault - starter acted like he didn’t like his job everyone else great
Difficulties
I hadn't played here since the summer and wasn't prepared for the challenges of this round.
First and foremost, putting was impossible because the greens had been flattened and speed was much too fast. Any downhill putt just sped up and flew past the cup.
Fairways were the other issue. The fairways looked nice but the it was deceiving because the grass had no texture to it and iron play was difficult because taking divots you were taking mud. There were no puddles on the fairways but the ground under the slight amount of grass revealed a hardened or soft muddy earth that killed divot attempts.
The course is nice and good layout, they just need to slow those greens down and get a little bit of height on the grass in the fairways and fill in the patchy spots to the sides of the fairways.
Nice course to play
We have played here in the past. I bring my Canadian friends here and they really like it. Greens fast and true. Thanks guys
Rules to poay
Booked on Golf Now Was not allowed to play because 3 of my foursome including me was wearing jeans. Nothing on Golfnow or their info aftrer booking stated jeans were not allowed. Tee time 12:30 Wednesday 1/17/2024 under my name Loren Vrolyk Asked for refund and was told Get it thru Golf Now and tell them to call the course. Waiting on rewspones from Gollf NOw
Not a fun course (challenging though)
Took 4.5 hours as a twosome, a lot of walkers on the course made for slower play. Conditions weren't all that great, had a lot of rain during the week so some fairways were water logged and cart path only. Back 9 has a stretch of holes that run parallel to each other and you're kind of in the line of errand shots, we had 3 balls from one hole and 1 from another come within a few yards of us while standing on the tee box waiting to tee off
Seven SPrings worth a Trip
Very good variety of fairways, shapes, water hazards and levels/heights. Down side was quite a few fairway areas with thin or no grass and about over half the greens very steep incline. Challenging narrow fairways
Funky layout but a challenging course
Front nine fairways were in ok shape so we rolled ball over a lot. The traps and greens were in good condition and rolled pretty well and not slow nor super fast. Greens are small and 2 of the par fives are super funky . Like 345 from the whites but you had to either take on water and or traps so we layed up. But these dog legs were tight fairways. Had to play these like target golf. Other holes had interesting layouts too. Plenty of water to deal with. Don’t search for balls in water as we saw min of 7 gators . The back nine fairways were in very good condition for the most part. Enjoyed a round there and will return. I think I payed 140 for two players bc it was busy season. Only waited in one hole bc they turned on sprinklers. Great weather we had as well and course was full but we moved. Ranger went by numerous times, not sure if he spoke to any groups bc pace was good. Did 18 in slightly under 4 (we were a threesome). Carts good but don’t have gps on them
Love the layout
Layout is great. Everyone was friendly. Greens were really nice. Only thing negative was the fairways were pretty bare in a lot of places. But I will definitely play there again.
Great value course to play
Overall great value. Well taken care of. Lightning fast greens! Awesome service great value
Seven Springs
Just a nice course to play. Friendly staff, well maintained course, members are fun to play with, good bang for your buck. I've played it several times and it always have been a good experience.
After talking with Golfnow and Seven Springs they allowed us to come back and play at a future date no extra cost. We had played there last year and of course it was warm and there was no issue. Great course challenging and fun.
