Tampa Bay Golf & Country Club
About
Tampa Bay Golf & Country Club is a Scottish links-style layout that is routed through sparkling lakes and carefully preserved conservation areas. The challenging layout features narrow tree-lined fairways and water hazards on all 18 holes. The front nine is short and tight, which contrasts nicely with the longer and more open back nine. Overall though, the golf course is not particularly long by modern standards. It is a shot-maker's course, requiring both accuracy and skilled iron play. The course has a challenging finishing hole that sums up the best elements of the course. This par-4 is a sharp dogleg right with a slew of bunkers and a pond to reckon with. The hole borders a nature preserve, making it the prettiest and most challenging hole on the course.

Well maintained course with excellent greens, not long but many tight holes.
We played on a very cold and windy Saturday afternoon. There were few people on the course so we got around in 3 and 1/2 hours. The course played longer than normal because of the 20 plus mph winds. It is narrow with very good but small greens. I enjoyed the course very much and will go back, the staff was nice, especially in the restaurant. I recommend the course.
Not as good as hyped by previous reviewers
When I saw 4 out of 5 stars for a "championship course," I expected much more for the money. How it's a "championship course" is questionable, unless one say's, "But there is a club championship." It wasn't hard to imagine that the developer and/or home owner's association may be giving financial incentives for local home owners and their friends to give 4 or 5 stars to this course. Yes, there is water that comes into play on almost all of the holes, but if you hit short and straight, there's isn't much a challenge. The yardage is short. There were mixes of grass on many of the greens. Frankly, we could have spent the same amount of money playing at a course closer to home that has more yardage and a more challenging design.
This time we played in 4and 30 mi very slow the course in good condition .the stafs were very frienldley great value for your money
Its one of the best course around tampa. nice green beautiful fairway.the bonkers could use some worked.the rest of the course is in great shaped.
Water everywhere
The course is quite narrow with water coming into play on nearly every hole. This was the first time I played the course and I hit several shots that I thought were perfect only to find I ended up in a hazzard. I will try it again, but this course is more suited for the short and straight golfer.
Unfair course for occasional use.
Knowing that water is eveywhere does not protect you. The fairways are hard and slope to water. they shave the banks
around the water. I played the course 3 Sundays in a row. The pin placement was the same. they do not have rangers.
The counter staff needs training.
Good course good value good condition
Arrived and went to pro shop, loaded our clubs, with no more than 10 words exchanged. We were handed a course guide and wished Good Luck. Front 9 went well, back 9 was super slow. Played on Super Bowl Sunday and never saw a ranger or service cart. Not a negative but extremely unattentive. Golf experience was good but could have been excellent with more human interaction.
Fast!!!
Challenging course in the fact that you must hit straight out of the tee box on most holes. What appeared to be great shots found their way off the fairway due to the fact that most fairways are crowned in the middle with short grass down into the hazards. And there ARE hazards...Lots of red stakes.
The greens were very fast but consistent.
Lots of tight lies but overall if you can keep it i play you should enjoy this course.
I played a 1:00p.m. shotgun start and by the time we reached our 9th. hole it seemed like we had the course to ourselves.
Pace of play was good with our group coming in at just short of 4 hours.
very fast greens
Almost every hole with Ponds. Very fast greens. Fair couse. Players average age: seniors. Expect slow moves
target golf on a really good course at a great price. What more could you ask for
fast greens, well maintained, challenging. Easy to find. Hit it where you are aiming....or bring plenty of balls. Best value in a course I have found in ages. Take care to follow the signs through the houses.
Water on every hole, excellent greens roll fast and true.
This course is very challenging. Makes you think what clubs to use.. just can't blast away. Water comes into play on every hole. course management is a must whether your playing from the tips or the senior tees. Greens are challenging and in excellent shape. My foursome loved the course and would recommend it to anyone who likes a challenge.
Great Layout
I have played this course many times in the past. My buddies and I quit playing it because of a number of factors. 1. The staff seemed as if they had no time for you. 2.Only nine holes open 3. Can't get you out for 45 min. 4. Cart path only (when not necessary) 5. Broke up a fivesome of old friends in from out of town even though there was no one else on course. (because a nosy resident complained)
Because of the great deal on Golf Now (even w/ the fees) we decided to give it another shot. Good move on our part. There was almost no one on the course, and we got right out and played at our own pace. The greens were in amazing shape. They rolled true and were pretty quick. If they were over seeded I couldn't tell. The fairways were green as well as the rough, and were cut beautifully. This course was in better shape than any course I have played in the last few months.
I do hate all the new houses. It makes the course play and look so differently. The scenery used to be a great draw.
Overall we made a great choice and will go back as long as the snow birds don't take over!!
tight course, fast greens, a few quirky holes, good value
This is a tight course in the middle of homes. A few holes are really poor in design with not enough land to build a great course. On a number of holes you should put the driver away and choose a 3 wood or utility club. the greens are small and fast. Water in play on most holes with trees on the other side of the fairway. Tight course.
Short with challenges
The course even if it is short (6200 from tips) has some challenging holes that call for shot making. On some holes you may be only hitting a five iron off the tee, but you better hit it right. There are two par fives up againest HWY 75, number 2 and number 17. Number 2 calls for a great tee shot, not much room for error. Where number 17 has a large landing area for your tee shot, but your second shot has to be precise. Go play the course it will make you use most of the clubs in your bag.
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL COURSE
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL COURSE, WE REALLY ENJOYED OURSELVES, STARTED A NEW THANKSGIVING TRADITION IN MY FAMILY
Course is in great shape.
Played on a windy day! This course is not the longest course around but with skinny fairways with water on almost every hole it was a nice challenge to stay in play. The greens are smaller but pretty receptive. Good day with the boys!
This course is very well designed and beautiful
This course was awesome with a beautiful view of the community. A little too much water for non-professionals
I've played this course for over 10 years and I've always walked away happy!
Excellent Course for your dollar and never has slow play!
Funnist & Craziest of all!
I played there with a Simi-Pro. He had 4 birds and shot a 77. Its like 100 yds..isnt 100 yards. Well, ya gotta be there to understand it. Or, Disunderstand it... If thats a word?
Great contition and staff.

2:00 Tee time w/ wife. Nice, fun course in subdivision setting. Very well maintained tee to green. Some holes are tight w/ houses in way of bad errant balls. Carts w/ windshield & rain cover in back. Will play again when in area.
