Zephyrhills City Golf Course
About
Opened in the 1970s, Zephyrhills City Golf Course has been a local favorite for more than 30 years. It is one of the area's most popular public golf courses and its convenient location just 30 minutes from Tampa Bay's attractions makes it appealing to visitors as well. The layout is a short 5,054 yards but it offers a player-friendly round that still has a fair amount of challenges. Water hazards in the forms of lakes and meandering streams come into play throughout the course and the bunkering may be sparse but it is strategically placed. Zephyrhills City Golf Course is approachable for beginners but more advanced players will enjoy it for a quick round of practice.

great place & people
not too long but that is ok. Lots of small challenges . If rthe course lacks anything it is far out compensated by the extremely nice staff. Best of anywhere I play. One of the main reasons I return there often. Even the folks who golf there are friendly ! I love this place.
Snowbirds are returning!
It was good to see alott of golfers enjoying a beautiful Florida fall!
Poor fairways need greens
So many weeds and crab grass everywhere. Don’t think there was any grass
Once per month
My buddies and I play this course about once per month. Like it, but greens were poor. No high expectations for this course. May have to quit going until next summer if the snowbirds are too many this year.
We play this course regularly
We play this course regularly and enjoy it. Gold sees make it short enough for us old farts to reach in regulation. On the day we played, the course was wet from recent rains, but still playable. Good value. Fun course.
You get what you pay for
We play this about once per month. Great price, but course conditions, especially the greens, leave much to be desired. These conditions however, were great for one member of our group, who usually is challenged by any golf course. This day he was a Tiger! Enjoy the course, but be prepared for iffy conditions.
Soggy and run down
Got a hot deal here for $5 which makes sense because the pro shop had no merchandise (including the basics like balls and tees) they were completely out of stock of everything. The course itself was a little long even thought they said they just trimmed it. No sand traps or water so meant to be fairly easy but the layout is so wonky and crisscrosses holes from the the front and back nine so much it’s hard to know which hole you’re even at. In some places it seems there used to be a concrete cart path which has long since been over grown but other than that there are only dirt cart paths. Upsides: friendly staff, easy course, hard to lose balls, it’s right next to a small airfield which it pretty cool when you see people parachuting when you come up from your swing. Even though it’s a 3 star course I would still recommend it to get a round it to practice your short play and approach game from relatively level positions with little-to-no risk of hazards.
My first time under 100
There are no bunkers or water but the rough is hard to find your ball. Most holes are just a straight shot, shorter than most courses. Good for $10
review
To be honest, I was a bit disappointed in the overall condition of this course...while the greens were in very nice condition, you couldn't tell where the fairways started compared to the rough....we spent a lot of time looking for our shots because the rough was not cut close or even cut at all.....also, the golf cart stopped on us several times during our round.....no water or sand hazards to avoid.....just your average "cow pasture".....won't be going back anytime soon.....
Good course for the price
This is a fun course we play regularly (maybe once per month). It's always a good value. Fairways and greens are not the best, but they are playable.
Fun Couse-Good Value
Great little course. Not overly long or difficult but still requires some shot making. Roughs are a bit thick and weedy but overall the course in good shape for the dry season. Staff super helpful. Could use a snack bar upgrade,
Wonderful staff and course
The course is in good good condition, the view is nice and peace with the planes flying over dropping people out to hang-glide. The staff is Outstanding and real nice to everyone. Overall experience OUTSTANDING/ WONDERFUL// and ENJOYABLE.
