This course is not worth the 1.5 hour ride I made. Looked course up on web (Tampa Bay Times Golf Tour) & course looked great there. Must have been when they 1st opened. Now course is in sad shape. It's a shame. Weeds all over the place. Fairway are thin, sparse, & act like hard pan, except where weeds are. Tee boxes are plusher w/ weeds all over. Roughs are greener grass than fairways. The elevated green are in decent shape, running mid to fast. The waste areas & bunkers (there's a lot of em), are thinly sanded. The lay out is decent. But all in all, course is not worth the regular price of $40-$45. Pro Shop & restaurant is in a double wide trailer. Minimal merchandise in Pro shop. not even a single logo cap. battery powered carts have windshield but no rain cover in back. I can say I've played this course.

the dunes is a great layout, but the course hss been ruined by an utter lack of any maintenance. Fairways have not been maintained at all.

We played this course before it closed, although the fairways were not as good, which one would have expected as it had been closed for over a year, the greens were excellent and so was the staff - nothing was too much trouble for them

Fairways are in horrible condition but the greens are good. This course has a lot of character and could be a great course if properly maintained.

This is a Arthur Hill design taking the natural sandy terrain and turning it into a very challenging course. Because it was let go by previous management the fairways are not good. But new ownership will get the course back to it's original condition. It you like a lot of sand you will love this course.

The Dunes as always is a pleasure to play. However due to the closure for several months the fairways have deteriorated dramatically. I hope the New Management will soon bring the course back to its former glory. It will always be one of my favourite courses.

The Dunes is an excellent and exciting layout with big fairways, lots of waste bunkers, with only one water hole. The fairways are not overseeded with rye grass thus the brownish look. The greens are in good shape and putt very true. I'll be back !!! ep

We liked the layout and wide fairways. Some greens need some work, but were decent.

This course could be great again. Layout very challenging. A bit rough now. Not terrible. Back 9 greens better than front. I would love to see this courses flourish again. If you are a decent golfer please give this one a try. It will test your skills. Nice practice range.

I have watched this course go from poor to very good in a year. The new management has it together. The clubhouse is a bit lacking but I am sure that will Che ang for the better over time. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The course is in very good condition and will challenge anyone. Greens are awesome with a lot of tricky breaks. This course is a very good value and fun!

The Course plays good, Tees and Greens are in good condition. Fairways have a lot of work needed. But
seeing the Course was shut down for some time , it seems to be coming back. I'll be back to play as long as prices are reasonable.

I have wanted to play this course for years but it was out of my price range. Thanks to Golf Now I finally got to play. The course is spectacular! There is not one level spot on the course which brings in course management. Every shot is either up or down hill. I played about 8 shots higher than normal. Allot due to the design of the course. That being said brings us to the condition. Over all the greens were in nice shape. There is not a level putt anywhere, you better know how to read a green or you will have a lot of 3 or more putts. The fairways for the most part are wide and forgiving but slope into massive waste areas on almost every hole. There are tons of bunkers around each green which I spent the whole day in as I went for every green. The fairways are lacking in grass(a lot of dirt and weeds) but I saw several grounds crews working around the course as I played through, so they are hard at work bringing this course back to what it once was. Thanks to the staff for being so welcoming and making me feel right at home.

Iv played this course lots of times over the years and This course was in my top 5 in tampa bay area ! I know it's had problems over the last couple of years but its on it's way back and its still a lovly great course !!! I will look forward to returning over the next few months

After re-opening a few months ago, I understand that they had much work to do. Most of the greens were good but a few had some really bad patches. The Fairways were not good at all. It has always been a challenging course with the length, dog legs, and vast bunkers. I would play here again but not for anywhere near their rack rates. I will wait to see improvement. They can only get me back there now for a real bargain price. It remains to be seen if they put the work in to bring it back to it's former glory.

I wish the new owner success, however it may be an uphill battle.
Not worth the price, for the location, and conditions.

The greens were good, but the fairways were very thin.

Greens were in much better condition than I was expecting. Fairways were rough though. Hope it is restored to its former self, it's such a great layout.

This course was a challenge to play. A challenge to find some nice grass in the fairway a challenge to a good spot on the greens and a challenge not to find some sand it's everywhere
